Description:

The Salar de Uyuni in southwest Bolivia is the world’s largest salt lake, covering some 10,000km². Islands in its centre covered in giant cacti only add to some of the most surreal landscapes on the planet. It is estimated that they grow at around 1cm/year on average; the tallest specimens are over 12 tall.
