Description:

The Payachatas (which means "Twins" in Aymara) volcanoes are on the northern Chile / Bolivia border and a prominent landmark in the vast empty plains of the Andean altiplano. Both peaks are over 6000m / 20,000ft, within around 70 miles the western flanks of the Andes drops to the Pacific ocean.
