Description
A female southern viscacha (Lagidium viscacia) and baby enjoy the early morning sun. Viscachas are closely related to the chinchillas and look like a cross between a large rabbit and a squirrel. They are often found in boulder fields as high as the snow line in the Andes where night temperatures are usually well below freezing, making the morning sun even more welcome!

Many thanks to the buyer in Seattle, WA who recently gave a canvas print of these cuties a home, your support is greatly appreciated!

So sweet! Sounds cold up there -- no wonder they appreciate the sun! L
James Brunker replied:
It can get very cold in the winter Judi, sun is very welcome, both for viscachas and photographers!
