Description
A group of Oncidium genus orchids, taken in the cloud forests of the Bolivian Andes. There are around 300 species of Oncidiums, the genus is widespread from Mexico to South America. They are often called "dancing lady" or "dancing queen" orchids due to their shape, and "golden shower" orchids due their large flower sprays and yellow being a common colour. Several species very similar to the one in this image can be found in the cloud forests of the central Andean region, identifying which is which can be quite tricky.....!
